Shopping Guide

The Massachusetts Tax Advantage
Massachusetts charges NO sales tax on clothing and footwear under $175 per item. This is permanent, not seasonal. Each item is evaluated separately — two $100 shirts are both tax-free even though the total is $200. Compared to most states (4-10% clothing tax), a $1,000 school wardrobe saves roughly $50-80. Items over $175: only the amount above $175 is taxed at 6.25%. Example: a $200 jacket = tax on just $25 = $1.56.
Luggage Note:
Flying Swiss Premium Economy BOS-GVA, plus Senator status = extra checked bag. Nathalie can buy freely — no need to limit to carry-on. Pack light coming, fill the bags going home!

Nathalie's Shopping Profile

Build: 175cm (5'9"), under 50kg, very thin. Prefers tight/form-fitting clothes. Adult women's XS or 0/2.
Challenge: Tall + thin = needs long inseam + slim waist for jeans/pants.
Her stores: Adidas, AE, Hollister, Target, Macy's, New Balance, Brandy Melville, Gap

Items She's Looking For

White long flowy skirt White wide-leg flowy pants Brown jeans/pants Jeans (long inseam) Gold earrings (14k+ / vermeil) Adidas Samba
Gold Earrings — Allergy Alert:
Nathalie has metal allergies. Must be solid gold (14k or higher) or gold vermeil (thick gold over sterling silver). Do NOT buy gold-plated over base metal — will cause reaction. Try Brodney Antiques first (where we got the huggies), then Mejuri on Newbury St.
